Zoey & Ryan’s Jasper National Park elopement was the hardest secret to keep this year! An elopement in the truest sense of the word, their friends and family had no idea that they were running away to the mountains to be married.
As featured in Rocky Mountain Bride‘s Jasper Wedding Planning Guide, this winter elopement in Jasper National Park highlights everything I love about an intimate wedding day.
We got engaged on Christmas morning. It was quite a surprise as was had not planned to exchange gifts! We celebrated the day on our own due to COVID-19 restrictions at the time.
We decided right away that we would elope in Jasper to eliminate the complications of inviting guests during a pandemic. We kept the elopement a secret, which made the day even more special. In the future we plan to have a backyard wedding reception with our family and friends.

We loved the intimacy of our first look. We stood back-to-back and quietly read our letters before turning around to see each other in our wedding attire for the first time. We are not a dressy couple, so this was a memorable moment for us.

The flexibility of our day allowed us to go for a drink and a snack at the JPL Emerald Lounge prior to our ceremony. Our only obligation was to show up at our ceremony location at 3PM. It was very relaxing!

Our ceremony on the outdoor sundeck at the JPL was short and sweet. Weather-wise, we had just come out of a long cold snap, so we were thankful for the mountain views and fresh air. Our marriage commissioner had such a warm personality, and her script was upbeat and personal.
