Hey you, yes you! I’m ready to share the first interview in a series of monthly fresh content. As a wedding photographer I have the opportunity to work closely with local (and sometimes far away!) vendors. They’re busy folks with a wealth of knowledge. I’m excited to connect you with their top industry tips!

I hope you enjoy, learn from and adore this second industry interview with Holly of Beauty Redefined by Holly. This gal made instant friends with the entire wedding party for Tara and David’s 2017 August wedding.

What’s Your Favourite Makeup Trend of 2019 – 2020

Bushy brows!

What does every bride need to know in order to keep her wedding day makeup looking great all day/night long?

Making sure that they have a great base of skincare and makeup primer to help the makeup sit on the face smoother; and always set with setting spray to make it last longer!! Then during the day, instead of using powder to do touch ups – using blotting papers to only get rid of the oils on the face and keeping your makeup looking the same as in the morning!

What is one thing you want every bride to know about choosing their makeup artist?

I want the bride to know what their vision is for their special day. I want to help them complete that vision and make them look and feel beautiful whilst still feeling like they look like themselves and not having makeup too intense where it’s unrealistic.

What inspires you everyday?

Honestly, my boyfriend Frazer. He is such a compassionate, motivated, kindhearted, and genuine person; that he inspires me everyday to better myself and to do things that make me happy. He is truly amazing and supportive, I don’t know what I’d do without him.

Hi, my name is Janelle, I’m an photographer hailing from Edmonton Alberta.I’m all about connection and celebration. Seriously, it’s my focus from our first client meeting till the chicken dance starts. I make an effort to get to know your closest friends and family on your wedding day. Why? First, they’re probably cool people, and second, when they know me as “Janelle” the gal who plays Dungeons and Dragons and has a pet Duck, they’re going to let me into their world. My favourite moment of every wedding is right after the ceremony. This is when your friends and family smother or possibly crush you with either love or cheerful embrace. Bring on all the candid moments.

I value connection and celebration of moments over a big production.
