I am blessed, absolutely blessed, with a beautiful yard. This is the first summer I’ve had the privilege/luxury of time to transform a few of my favourite spots into an outdoor studio space. I can’t wait to share the locations with you! I’ve included the best seasons and times to book each spot for family, engagements or fur baby portraits.

We’re located in Edmonton AB, just a 5 – 7 minute drive north of the Anthony Henday. The best way to book is email Janelle at hello@janelledudzic.com

The Lane

Our driveway is lined with Colorado Spruce, planted before I started elementary school. I spent 12 years running down this driveway (almost always late) to catch the yellow school bus.

Best time for a session:

  • Winter – Early morning, 8:00 am – 10:00 am when the sun is low in the east
  • Spring/Summer/Fall – Evening, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm depending on the season

Little Tin

Growing up, this little tin shed was a chicken coup! It’s since been converted into a storage shed for beekeeping equipment and Momma Lynn keeps flowers and vines in the front flower box. A friend recently recommended that I find a new home for the beekeeping equipment and turn the shed into a studio space. Perhaps a project for next year 🙂

Best time for a session:

  • Spring/Summer/Fall – Early morning, 6 am when the sun is low in the east
  • Spring/Summer/Fall – Evening, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm when the sun is low in the west

The Grove

A tree’d in space next to Horse Hill Creek. In the spring and early summer the creek flows through our yard just on the other side of this tree line. We’ve planted apple and cherry trees in this area to create a mini orchard next to our fire pit. In the early morning, around 6 am, the sun is absolutely striking through these trees.

  • Spring/Summer/Fall – Early morning, 6 am when the sun is low in the east
  • Spring/Summer/Fall – Evening, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm when the sun is low in the west

Little Red

This “barn” has housed sheep, chickens, a duck and at one time pigs. When I was in kindergarten, the first time one of our sheep had lambs, I was determined to sleep in Little Red. My parents moved a sleeping blanket and my pillows out to the barn and set me up on top of a square bale. It only took a few minutes before I chickened out and asked to sleep in my real bed.

This year Little Red got a fresh coat of paint and I added a firewood feature wall.

  • Winter – Morning 8:00 am – 9:00 am, Evening 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
  • Spring/Summer/Fall – Evening, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm when the sun is low in the west

Hi, my name is Janelle, I’m a photographer from Edmonton Alberta. I’m all about three things: celebration, connection and client education. My style is relaxed and romantic. I love intimate weddings, the kind where I get to know your family and friends. I thrive when meeting new people. My favourite moment of every wedding is right after the ceremony. This is when your friends and family smother or possibly crush you with either love or cheerful embrace. Bring on all the candid moments.

I value connection and celebration of moments over a big production.
