This wasn’t your usual start to a proposal session request. For those of you who don’t know, I work at this super duper place, the University of Alberta Students’ Union.  I was at work, in my office, when one of my co-workers knocked on my door. She was on the phone with her sister, who had just learned that their older sister’s partner was planning to propose within the week. Minutes later we had Jordon on the phone, conference call style, and set a plan in action for a proposal session.

This is the first time I’ve ever shot a proposal session. My heart was running like a race horse in my chest! I wanted everything to go perfect for Jordon when he asked Nicole to marry him. His goal was to recreate as much of their first date as possible. It did go perfect. Jordon picked the most breathtaking spot of our Edmonton city skyline. He also did a killer job coordinating outfits and packed jerseys for the Oilers game they were going to later that evening. Well done Jordon!

Hi, my name is Janelle, I’m an photographer hailing from Edmonton Alberta. Life is good if I can spend my time traveling to breathtaking destinations that inspire and make my heart feel lighter. If I can go there with an adventurous couple, that’s the making of an awesome story and touching images. I LOVE to travel and write photography travel tips for other photographers.  I value authenticity and touching moments over a big production.
